- Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 will be priced at Rs 1,65,147 and Rs 1,75,846 respectively
- BS6 bikes to carry similar power output number as the BS4 models
Select dealerships of Suzuki Motorcycle India have commenced the pre-bookings for the BS6 compliant Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 ahead of their launch. The pre-bookings at a Mumbai dealership are open for Rs 5,000, although the amount may vary depending on the dealerships.
The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand is yet to announce the launch details, although dealer sources have confirmed that the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 will be priced at Rs 1,65,147 and Rs 1,75,846 respectively (ex-showroom Patna prices). In comparison, the BS4-compliant Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 were priced at Rs 159,800 and Rs 170,655 respectively.
The updated models will carry the styling and features of their respective predecessors, and thus use LED headlight and taillight, digital instrument cluster and a sporty design. The engine specifications, as reported earlier, will remain near similar to the BS4 vehicles. The 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine will continue to deliver 26.1bhp of peak power. The maximum torque, on the other hand, will witness a marginal fall over the BS4 motorcycles (22.2Nm vs 22.6Nm).
With the BS6 emission norm deadline right around the corner, the updated Suzuki Gixxer range should reach the dealerships in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Federation of Automobiles Dealers Association (FADA) has approached the Supreme Court, requesting to extend the BS6 emission norm deadline due to Coronavirus. FADA has requested the apex court to allow the sale of BS4 vehicles for an additional two months to clear the existing inventory.
