-The Gixxer 250 is a street naked motorcycle
-It is based on the Gixxer SF 250
-Likely to be launched in the coming months
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 is set to be launched in India soon. While that is not an unknown fact, images of the bike have been leaked putting to rest the speculations about its design.
The leaked images reveal that the Gixxer 250 will borrow a few design cues from its smaller sibling, the Gixxer 150. The most prominent element of this design is the fuel tank’s definite shoulder lines that give it a muscular look. Then there are the beefy and edgy tank shrouds which add to the bike’s street fighter appeal. The Suzuki Gixxer 250 also seems to sport a sleek and low-slung headlamp that will get LED lighting.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 will be based on the Gixxer SF 250 that was launched in India a while ago. And it is safe to say that it will be powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that does duty in the faired version. This motor produces 26.1bhp and 22.6Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension and braking hardware will also be similar to the Gixxer SF 250. The Gixxer 250 will also sport a full-digital instrument cluster that displays speedometer, two trip meters, a gear position indicator, fuel gauge, odometer and clock.
Suzuki is likely to launch the Gixxer 250 in India sometime during the festive season and price it between Rs 1.60 lakhs to Rs 1.65 lakhs (ex-showroom). In terms of competition, it will go head-on against the Bajaj Dominar 400 and KTM 250 Duke in the country.
