- Both Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF launched
- Powered by a single-cylinder engine
- Priced at Rs. 3.47 lakh onwards
Suzuki has launched the 2023 Gixxer 250 range in Australia. Both bikes are on sale in India as well but there’s a noticeable difference in the pricing for the Australian market. Here’s what we know about the bikes.
The Gixxer 250 twins are based on the same platform and only differ in terms of the design. The Gixxer 250 gets naked styling, while the SF trim comes with large side fairings. Apart from that, both models feature a muscular fuel tank, an upright rider triangle, and an LED headlight. Even the split-seat design is the same for the two.
Powering the Gixxer quarter-litre twins is a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled motor that makes 26.13bhp of power at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Then, the hardware, too, is the same for both bikes. They ride on telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking setup consists of single front and rear discs with ABS. The brakes are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in road-biased rubber.
The Gixxer twins feature an LED headlight and taillight and a fully digital console. The cluster packs a list of essential readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level indicator, and more. However, there’s no smartphone connectivity for the Australian spec Gixxer 250 models.
Suzuki has priced the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 at AUD 6,490 (approximately Rs. 3.47 lakh) and AUD 6,790 (around Rs. 3.63 lakh sans taxes), respectively. Compared to the prices in India, both Gixxer 250s demand a premium of over Rs. 1.2 lakh in Australia.
