Suzuki Motorcycles India recently launched the Gixxer 250, its newest offering in the naked motorcycle segment. Here we bring to you five features of the motorcycle.
Styling
The Gixxer 250 follows the same styling as the smaller Gixxer 155 which was launched a month ago. It sports a flat, full-LED headlamp, chiselled fuel tank, sharp tank extensions and a split seat setup. Moreover, the beefy exhaust sports get a redesigned dual-outlet and the belly pan completes the design.
Two colour options
The Gixxer 250 sets itself apart from its smaller iteration with its two, dual-tone paint schemes of Metallic Matte Platinum Silver with Metallic Matte Black and Metallic Matte Black. Furthermore, it also sports a bronze-finished engine and mid-section panel that differentiates it from the Gixxer 155.
Fuel-injected 249cc motor
It comes powered by a 249cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine also does duty on the fully-faired Gixxer 250 and produced 26.1 bhp and 22.6Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suzuki has made the motor more refined by aiming to reduce friction.
Five kilos lighter
Now, with all the bulk of the fairing gone, the Gixxer 250 tips the scales at 156kg; that is 5kg lesser than the Gixxer SF 250 which has a kerb weight of 161kg.
Pricing
Suzuki has pegged the Gixxer 250 at Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom). The motorcycle goes head-on against the KTM 250 Duke and the Yamaha FZ25. In terms of pricing, the Gixxer 250 will also face competition from the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 which costs Rs 1.80 lakhs.
