- To get single-channel ABS
- Likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 6,000 from the rear disc version.
- Expected to be launched next month.
The 2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS has been spotted ahead of its launch which is expected to happen next month.
The bike will get a single-channel ABS unit and is likely to be priced around Rs 6,000 higher than the rear disc variant which retails at Rs 80,929. Suzuki also offers a rear drum variant which is priced at Rs 77,015. (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from this, the bike remains the same mechanically and visually. It continues to get its distinctive styling features like the sculpted fuel tank, raised rear, and the beefy, dual-outlet exhaust. It is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 14.8bhp and 14Nm of torque. While its siblings, the Gixxer SF and Intruder get a fuel-injection system, the Gixxer makes do with a carburetor.
The Suzuki Gixxer competes against the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ-S Fi, TVS Apache RTR160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS160. However, as of now only the Hornet 160R is offered with ABS.
