Suzuki has introduced new rear disc brake variants of the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF for the Indian market. Priced at Rs 79,726 and Rs 87,343 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively, both these models will be sold alongside the standard rear drum brake variants.
The addition of the 220mm rear disc brake has bumped up the price of the variants by Rs 2,500. Apart from this, Suzuki has also introduced a new paint schemes for the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. While the streetfighter is now also available in lush green/glass sparkle black, the fully-faired version comes with the option of pearl mira red/matt black paint scheme. Even the MotoGP edition of the Gixxer SF now gets revised decals to give it a fresher look.
The rest of the mechanicals of both the motorcycles are identical to the standard models. The Gixxer and Gixxer SF are powered by the 155cc single cylinder air-cooled engine, which produces 14bhp and 14Nm of torque. Mated to a five-speed transmission, the engine comes equipped with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) to optimise efficiency and performance.
Along with the new green-black paint scheme, the new Suzuki will continue to sell the Gixxer in black and blue monotone paint schemes. Besides these, Suzuki also offers two special edition models with dual tone paint schemes inspired from Suzuki's traditional racing colours. The dual-tone variants are priced Rs 1,100 more than the standard monotone models. The Gixxer SF, on the other hand, also comes in a black paint scheme.
