Suzuki Motorcycle India announced the launch of its BS6 compliant Gixxer and Gixxer SF at Rs 1,11,871 and Rs 1,21,871 respectively (ex-showroom Delhi). Here we list the alternatives that you can consider in the same price range.
For about Rs 10,700 less, buyers can purchase Yamaha’s 150cc naked roadster motorcycle, the FZ S. The feature list on the FZS comprise of LED headlight and a fully-digital instrument cluster along with muscular styling. The 149cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 12.2bhp at 7,250rpm and 13.6Nm at 5,500rpm. Similar to the Suzuki Gixxer, the Yamaha FZ S also features disc brakes on both wheels along with a single-channel ABS. The Yamaha FZ S is priced at Rs 1,01,200.
Available at an even affordable price tag is TVS Motor Company’s Apache RTR 160 4V. The 160cc naked roadster retails at Rs 99,950, and it comes equipped with a full-LED headlight and a digital instrument cluster. The rear disc brake version is available at Rs 1,03,000. The 159.7cc, single-cylinder engine churns out 15.8bhp and 14.2Nm and it comes mated to a five-speed transmission. The motor also benefits from the Glide Through Traffic (GTT) system that is designed to deliver a smooth low-speed ride.
At Rs 1,24,000, buyers can get the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V that packs a bigger engine and more features than the Suzuki Gixxer bikes. The BS6 compliant 197.75cc, single-cylinder engine makes 20.2bhp and 16.8Nm. Similar to the 160cc model, the Apache RTR 200 4V also benefits from the Glide Through Traffic (GTT) system. The feature list on the Apache RTR 200 4V comprise full-LED headlight, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, split seat setup and a dual-barrel exhaust.
People interested in electric motorcycles can check the Revolt RV300 as an appealing package. Priced at Rs 1,10,963, the RV300 electric bike features full-LED lighting, fully-digital instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity. The smartphone app gives access to information and features such as ride history, battery status, SOS battery delivery and Geo location/Geo fencing. The suspension setup comprises of premium hardware such as upside-down telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock.
The RV300 promises a range of 150 km (Eco mode) and a top speed of 80kmph (Sports mode). For a relatively higher price tag of Rs 1,29,463, buyers can also opt for the RV400 that packs slightly higher range (156km), top speed (85kmph) and additional features over the RV300. Do note that the Revolt bikes are available in select cities.
