- Suzuki Gixxer new colours to be introduced soon
- Will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gixxer series
- Likely to be slightly expensive than the existing paint schemes
Suzuki has released a new teaser image on its social media handles announcing the upcoming launch of new colours for the Gixxer. With the new shades, the Japanese bike maker will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Gixxer series.
Suzuki’s portfolio comprises of Gixxer offerings in two displacements options – 155cc and 250cc, with a naked and a fully-faired model for each. The company has not yet confirmed which of these bikes will be adorned with new special colour schemes. Currently, the Suzuki Gixxer and the Gixxer SF are available in three colour options. Meanwhile, the Gixxer 250 comes in two dual-tone paint schemes while the Gixxer SF 250 is sold in three different shades.
The smaller Gixxer siblings are powered by a 155cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine which churns out 13.4bhp and 13.8Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the larger Gixxers run a 249cc, oil-cooled motor which is mated to a six-speed gearbox and produces 26.1bhp and 22.2Nm. The cycle parts of these models are largely similar with the 250cc twins boasting of slight distinctions over their smaller counterparts.
The new colour options are likely to demand a marginal premium over the prices of the existing standard versions. Notably, the Gixxer SF and SF 250 already come in special MotoGP liveries which are slightly more expensive than the base colours.
