We showed you pictures of the Gixxer at the production line yesterday and today we have pictures of the bike at a dealership. The company seems to have already dispatched the motorcycle to showrooms and we might soon get the official launch dates.
The Gixxer is a new 155cc motorcycle from Suzuki and will be targeted at the youth in India. The styling of the bike is inspired by the immensely popular GSX-R sportsbike series and also borrows design traits from it like the dual holed stubby exhaust can. The street fighter bike boasts of a bikini fairing, fully digital instrument panel, front disc brake, 17-inch wheels with 100/80 sized tyre in the front and 140/60 sized tyre at the rear.
The Suzuki Gixxer is powered by a 154.9 cc air-cooled engine that produces 13.94bhp of power and 14Nm of torque. This carbureted motor that incorporates the efficiency enhancing Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology, comes mated to a five-speed gearbox, unlike the six-speed one on the GS150R.
To be positioned above the GS150R in Suzuki Motorcycle India’s portfolio, the Gixxer will rival the Yamaha FZ, Honda Trigger, Hero Extreme and the Bajaj Pulsar 150. We expect it to be priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 65,000. For the exact region wise pricing we will have to wait till the company officially launches the bike.
