Suzuki recently launched the Gixxer SF 250 BS6 in India with a price tag of Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle gets a BS6-compliant engine as part of the update and a price increase of around Rs 3,400 over the BS4 model. Nevertheless, if you are looking to buy a motorcycle around the price tag of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6, here is the list of options-
Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250
The Husqvarna twins are both priced at Rs 1.80 lakh each. However, they offer different styling that sets them apart. The Svartpilen 250 is designed to look like a scrambler so it sports a straight handlebar and metal cladding on the fuel tank, and rides on dual-sport tyres. On the other hand, the Vitpilen 250 draws inspiration from cafe racers and sports lowered-clip-on handlebar and rides on five-spoke wheels with road-biased tyres. Both motorcycles are powered by the same 248cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 29.2bhp and 24Nm.
The 200 Duke is KTM’s highest-selling motorcycle in India. With the recent update, it received a much-needed cosmetic makeover wherein it borrowed bodywork from the 250 Duke. Hence, the KTM 200 Duke sports an LED DRL fitted in the sharp headlamp cowl, edgy tank shrouds, and a sharp tail section with a semi-exposed sub-frame. While it continues with the same suspension and braking hardware, KTM has revised the 199cc single-cylinder engine to make it BS6-compliant. However, this hasn’t changed the power figures and the motor continues to churn out 25.1bhp and 19.5Nm. The KTM 200 Duke will cost you Rs 1.72 lakh.
The only retro-styled motorcycle in this list is the Benelli Imperiale 400 at Rs 1.79 lakh. The motorcycle is adorned in chrome components that add to its appeal. Moreover, Benelli has equipped the Imperiale 400 with a twin-pod instrument cluster with chrome bezels. Powering the motorcycle is a 374cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 19bhp of power and 28Nm of torque. It comes with a dual-channel ABS as standard and is offered in a choice of three colour options- silver, red and black.
