Suzuki has launched its quarter-litre, fully-faired offering, the Gixxer SF 250 in India. The motorcycle is the elder sibling of the Gixxer SF 155 and has been priced at Rs 1.70 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). After much hype and anticipation, now that the bike is finally introduced, let’s take a glimpse at its pictures from the launch.
Suzuki has bestowed the Gixxer SF 250 with an aggressive design. It gets a uniquely-styled headlamp, short windscreen, chiseled fuel tank and edgy fairing along with a sharp tail section.
The front fascia of the motorcycle is reminiscent of Suzuki’s previous-gen sportsbike, the GSX-R1000. It sports a wide headlamp which houses LED lights for better illumination.
The overall design of this Gixxer boasts of smooth flowing lines ending into a sleek tail lamp unit which also features LED lights.
The split seat blends well with the motorcycle’s sporty stance and it is accompanied by body-coloured split grab rails.
The bike also comes equipped with clip-on handlebars which, along with the split seat, should make for a sporty yet comfortable riding stance.
The instrument cluster gets design and layout similar to that on the newly-launched 2019 Gixxer SF 155. It is a fully-digital, LCD unit and gets blue backlight.
Powering the Gixxer SF 250 is a 249cc, four-valve, oil-cooled motor with SOHC (Single Over Head Camshaft) configuration. This unit produces 26.1bhp at 9000rpm and 22.6Nm at 7500rpm.
The 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are suspended by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
Braking duties are taken care of by disc brakes at both ends and it is assisted by a dual-channel ABS setup which comes as standard.
Suzuki has introduced the Gixxer SF 250 in two colour options which include Metallic Matte Platinum Silver and Metallic Matte Black.
