- Video reveals a throaty exhaust note
- To be launched on 20 May
- Could be priced between Rs 1.60 lakhs to Rs 1.70 lakhs
While we are inching closer to the launch of Suzuki’s much-anticipated offering, the Gixxer SF 250, the company has released a teaser video of the fully-faired motorcycle.
Flashing a tagline ‘Dawn of Greatness’, the video reveals the throaty exhaust note of the motorcycle while it speeds away. Although the company hasn’t disclosed the launch date in the video and ended it with ‘coming soon’, we know the bike will be launched on 20 May. Moreover, the picture and specifications of the motorcycle were leaked recently. The Gixxer 250 carries an aggressive design theme with edgy body panels including an angular fairing, sculpted fuel tank and an upswept tail section. The split seat and clip-on handlebars indicate that it will offer a committed riding stance.
Powering the Gixxer SF 250 will be a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC motor which churns out 26.1bhp at 9000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7500rpm. This motor will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, braking duties are taken care of by disc brakes at both the ends, accompanied by a dual-channel ABS.
In terms of competition, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 will compete against the Yamaha FZ25 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. While there is no report about its pricing, we expect the Gixxer 250 to cost between Rs 1.60 lakhs to Rs 1.70 lakhs.
