Suzuki Motorcycle India updated its portfolio with the launch of the BS6-compliant Gixxer SF 250. The Gixxer SF 250 BS6 is priced at Rs 1,74,000. Apart from the standard model, Suzuki Motorcycle India has also updated the MotoGP edition to comply with the newest emission norms. Here we list the top five highlights of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6.
Design
The styling remains unaltered and the Suzuki Gixxer SF BS6 looks identical to the BS4 model. Thus, the motorcycle continues to use a full-fairing design with a full-LED headlight at the front, an LED taillight at the back, digital instrument cluster, clip-on style handlebars, split seat and twin-muffler layout with chrome highlights.
Colours
Similar to the BS4 model, Suzuki Motorcycle India will offer the Gixxer SF 250 BS6 in two versions – standard and MotoGP edition. The standard version is available in two colour options – Metallic Matt Black and Metallic Matt Platinum Silver. The MotoGP edition features a Metallic Triton Blue paint that’s complemented by a special, GSX-RR MotoGP motorcycle-inspired livery.
Engine
The BS6 compliant Gixxer SF 250 continues to use a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that, despite complying with the latest emission norms, continues to deliver 26.1bhp of maximum power at 9,300rpm. The BS6 range suffers from a marginal loss in the peak torque output number. The BS6-compliant Gixxer 250 range produces 22.2Nm of peak torque at 7,300rpm as against 22.6Nm at 7,500rpm on the BS4 motorcycle.
Hardware
The hardware on the Gixxer SF 250 BS6 is similar to the BS4 motorcycle, and the latest iteration of the quarter-litre motorcycle continues to use 41mm telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock to perform the shock absorption tasks. Braking department comprises of disc brakes on both wheels while the safety-net includes dual-channel ABS.
Price
The standard variant of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6 has been priced at Rs 1,74,000. In comparison, the BS4 model was sold at Rs 170,655. The MotoGP edition carries a marginal price premium over the standard model, and it has been priced at Rs 1,74,900.
