Suzuki has announced that they will launch their new Gixxer SF motorcycle on April 7 at an event in Delhi. This is the fully-faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer and the company is promoting it as 'The Street Sport Bike'.
The new Suzuki Gixxer SF is based on the Gixxer and shares most of the components with its sibling. The SF gets a new fairing with funky decals that give it a sporty look. It extends right up to the front of the engine. Most of the other components will be directly carried over from the Gixxer, like the seats, rear section and tyres are exactly the same.
The Gixxer SF is expected to be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled carbureted engine from the Gixxer. This mill churns out 14.59bhp of power and 14Nm of torque and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. To account for the additional weight of the fairing, the company might retune this motor to churn out slightly more power.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF will be available in five colours - pearl mirage white, metallic triton blue, glass sparkle black, candy red and metallic grey. It might get a slightly premium price over its naked sibling. The faired Gixxer will go up against the Yamaha Fazer V2.0 and the Honda CBR150R when it is introduced to the Indian market.
