Suzuki India has announced a special offer for its quarter-litre motorcycle, the Gixxer SF250. The bike is available with an exchange offer of Rs 58,000 when one trades in their 150cc+ motorcycle. In addition to this, the bike is available with an exchange bonus of Rs 20,000 on its on-road price. This effectively means the Suzuki Gixxer SF250 can be bought with savings of Rs 78,000. The special offer on the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is valid till the end of March.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF250 is one of the sweetest bikes in the segment, offering a good blend of performance and practicality. Its 249cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine is known for its refinement and fuel efficiency.
However, Suzukirecently recalled the Gixxer SF250 as well as the Gixxer 250 and V-Strom SX to fix an issue with the engine’s camshaft. The three bikes have the same engine and the company had come across an issue caused by the improper heat treatment of parts in a certain batch of engines during production. The affected engines may suffer from sudden stalling and make abnormal noises.
While some people may attach a negative connotation to the word recall, it should be noted that recalls issued by companies show their proactiveness in fixing issues. Recalls, in fact, are common in the automobile industry, in countries like the US.
The reduced price of the Suzuki Gixxer SF250 makes it quite a sweet deal as it now sits between competition such as the Yamaha R15 and the Bajaj Pulsar N250.
