Suzuki has launched two special edition motorcycles, christened Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP, at Rs 80,726 and Rs 88,857 (both ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Available in a unique race-inspired livery, these models are based on the top-end rear disc brake version of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF.
The special edition Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP cost over Rs 1,000 more than the standard rear disc brake versions, and over Rs 3,500 more than the standard versions. Both the bikes come in a unique matte fibroin grey/glass sparkle black livery. They also get contrasting maroon coloured seats and a clear lens tail lamp. Under the skin, these models are identical to the standard version, and are powered by a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine delivering 14bhp and 14Nm of torque.
This month marks the second anniversary of the Suzuki Gixxer. The Gixxer and Gixxer SF have been quite successful in the Indian market and have helped the company build a sporty image in the minds of the youth. The frequent updates like new paint schemes and special edition models have helped the company keep the range up to date. Commenting on these new models, Satoshi Uchida, MD, SMIPL said, “We are pleased to announce our latest special edition variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, enabling us to expand our offerings in the Gixxer series. The SP editions of the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF stay committed to the exceptional performance and ability of the Gixxer and give an edgy look to the fashionable rider.”
