Suzuki has launched new colours for the Gixxer naked street bike and the Gixxer SF fully-faired motorcycle in India. While the former is now available in new Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Mira Red shades, the latter has been introduced in Pearl Mira Red paint scheme. These will be sold alongside the already available colour variants of the bikes.
With the introduction of new shades, Suzuki has also increased the prices of the bikes. The naked Gixxer is now pegged at Rs 1,14,500 which is a premium of Rs 560 over the previous pricing. Meanwhile, the faired Gixxer SF now costs Rs 1,24,970 which is Rs 1,030 more than before and the same as the MotoGP version of the motorcycle (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the new liveries, both the Gixxers have remained unchanged in all other aspects. Powering the motorcycles is a 155cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine which is capable of producing 13.4bhp and 13.8Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed gearbox. On the feature front, both bikes sport a full-LED headlamp and tail lamp along with conventional indicators. Instrumentation setup comprises of an LCD console which displays all the vital information.
The Suzuki Gixxer competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ FI, Honda X-Blade and the new Hero Xtreme 160R. Meanwhile, the Gixxer SF locks horns with the Yamaha YZF R15 V3 in terms of body style and displacement, but the latter is on the expensive side of the spectrum.
