Suzuki Motorcycle India has reported a 15 per cent increase in its overall sales in October. However, this is a sequential increase over September 2015 and not a year-on-year growth.
The Japanese manufacturer sold 35,936 units in October as compared to 31,240 units in the same month last year. Out of the total sales, the Gixxer contributed to more than 10,000 units, which is a very big achievement. Usually, the mass market products get the majority of the sales for a company, however, in the case of Suzuki, more than 30 per cent of the sales is coming from the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF.
“We are happy that our Gixxer series has crossed 10,000 units in market sales in October 2015, which is a testimony to its unmatched appeal amongst discerning young customers and also a sign of positive reception to our overall product portfolio in the market," said Masayoshi Ito, managing director, Suzuki.
Suzuki is expected to showcase a new 250cc fully-faired motorcycle at the 2016 Auto Expo. Along with this bike, we are expecting the company to unveil new scooters and motorcycles that will help them take on the likes of Hero MotoCorp and Honda.
