- Sales increased by a 56 per cent
- Growth is due to the introduction of Burgman Street
- Likely to launch the V-Strom 650 this month
Suzuki has reported a whopping growth of 56 per cent for the July 2018 sales. This is also the company’s highest ever monthly sales ever recorded in the country.
The company sold 53,321 units in July this year as against 34,038 units in the same month last year. The increase in sales is a result of the new launch, the Burgman Street – a 125cc premium scooter. The company has dispatched 10,000 units of this scooter to its showrooms last month.
This number is expected to grow as we get close to the festive season. The company also dispatched the new Gixxer and the Gixxer SF in July. The Japanese bike maker recorded overall sales of 58,805 units (Domestic + Exports). The cumulative sales for April-July 2018 period stood at 2,28,908 units with a growth of 37.5%.
Suzuki’s next launch will be in a premium segment, the V-Strom 650. This adventure bike is likely to be launched in August as a completely-knocked-down (CKD) unit and will compete with the Kawasaki Versys 650.
