Suzuki unveiled the 2018 MotoGP bikes at the pre-season test in Sepang. The manufacturer also announced their flagship supersport bikes, the GSX-R1000 and the GSX-R1000R in MotoGP replica livery.
The new livery is an update to Suzuki’s signature blue with bold white wording and adds a stealth black to revised neon yellow highlights. The new paint scheme is the only change on the bike; mechanically the GSX-R1000 remains the same.
It is powered by a 999cc inline four liquid-cooled engine. The GSX-R1000 produces 196bhp at 13,200rpm and 118Nm of torque at 10,800rpm. The bike gets a VVT technology derived from the MotoGP prototype. The engine also includes a finger-follower valve train and stacked intake funnels that mimics the MotoGP machine.
The MotoGP replica GSX-R1000R will cost £16,099 (Rs 14.38 lakhs), while the GSX-R1000 is priced at £13,599 (Rs 12.15 lakhs). We can expect Suzuki to introduce both bikes in India sometime this year.
