Images of the Suzuki GSX-R250 that have surfaced on the internet are touted to be from its native country, Japan. While we are not really bothered about where they come from, it is the motorcycle that excites us. We have been waiting for Suzuki’s answer to the Ninja 250 and the Honda CBR 250 and the latest Yamaha YZF R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
Earlier this month, we had speculated the launch of the GSX-R250 in March and with these pictures the odds are turning out to be in favour. The headlamp design is remnant of the previous generation GSX-R1000 superbike. The fully faired motorcycle also gets the sharp lines of the GSX-R family with a front biased stance and an upswept tail section with split seats.
It will get a 250cc single-cylinder engine producing roughly about 25bhp of power mated to a 6-speed transmission. It gets disc brakes in the front as well as the rear and will come with ABS as an option if not standard. Taking cues from the Gixxer and the SF, the GSX-R250 should excel in the handling aspect.
The GSX-R250 will be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2016 with the price tag expected between Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh for it to make a mark against the competition.
