Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the much-awaited GSX-S1000F for the Indian market at Rs 12.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This goes up against the Kawasaki Ninja 1000.
The GSX-S1000F is the fully faired version of the GSX-S1000, which is a naked roadster. Suzuki also launched the GSX-S1000 along with this sibling. The main features include a lightweight chassis, switchable 3-mode traction control system, 43mm inverted KYB forks, radial mount monobloc brembo brakes and a new instrument cluster display.
Both the motorcycles are powered by the engine from the GSX-R1000. This is a liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder, four-stroke 999cc engine. The until-now-secret power figures are expected to be 145bhp of power tuned to suit the latest emission norms and riding style.
Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd., said, "The GSX-S1000 is a naked roadster with an aggressive look, while the GSX-S1000F is its fully faired sibling. Their supersport genes deliver smooth, controlled handling and dynamic acceleration. We are launching these models globally and in India at the same time so that Indian motorcycle enthusiasts can lay their hands on the latest, top of the line Suzuki products. These motorcycles cater to the rider who wants a performance street motorcycle. These sport roadsters have expanded our already diverse big motorcycle lineup."
The Suzuki GSX-S1000F is a pure sport roadster designed for a laid-back style, but one can still take it to the track for a good knee-scraping session. Both the motorcycles have been launched globally and introduced for the Indian market at the same time.
