- To be launched as Haojue DR300 in China
- Is powered by a 298cc, parallel-twin motor
- Unlikely to make its way to India
The Suzuki GSX-S300 is set to be launched in China soon as the Haojue DR300.
Haojue Motorcycles, which is Suzuki’s Chinese partner, will produce and sell the GSX-S300 (DR300) there. Unveiled at the Chongqing Mobo Fair 2018, the streetfighter borrows styling from the GSX-S1000. So, it sports sharp and edgy lines all around its aggressively-styled bodywork. The manufacturer has also adorned the GSX-S300 (DR300) with bold graphics and gold-finished fork bottles that enhance its sporty appeal.
In terms of features, the motorcycle gets full-LED lighting and an LCD that serves as an instrument cluster. The unit shows speed, rpm, gear position, and temperature among other information. Powering the motorcycle is a 298cc, parallel-twin motor that churns out 28.8bhp at 8500rpm and 27.8Nm at 6500rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The GSX-S300 uses KYB sourced suspension- inverted forks up front and a seven-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking hardware consists of petal discs at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
The Suzuki GSX-S300 is an interesting proposition, although it is unlikely to make its way to India. Nevertheless, we have the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF250 that were specially developed for the country.
