- Most affordable big bike in Suzuki line-up
- Locally assembled
- Competes against Street Triple, Monster 797 and the Z900
Suzuki has launched the GSX-S750 in India at Rs 7.45 lakhs (ex-showroom). Powered by an inline-four engine, the GSX-S750 competes against the Triumph Street Triple S, Ducati Monster 797 and the Kawasaki Z900.
The GSX-S750 uses all the traditional streetfighter cues like sharp styling, sharply-raked headlamp, muscular tank, edgy tank extensions and radiator shrouds and a minimalistic rear. The lines are inspired by the litre-class GSX-S1000 and give the motorcycle a brawny look. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster.
Propelling the GSX-S750 is a 749cc inline-four engine. This engine churns out 113bhp and 81Nm of torque, is mated to a six-speed transmission. The electronics package consists of a three-level traction control system and ABS. It rides on 41mm KYB inverted front forks and a rear monoshock. The brake setup consists of twin discs up front and a single disc in the rear, with Nissin callipers.
The GSX-S750 is the second locally-assembled Suzuki big bike in India after the Hayabusa. This has helped the company undercut its rivals in terms of pricing. Although the GSX-S750 is pitted against other middleweight streetfighters, it also shares the market space with another inline-four, the Honda CBR650F, which is slightly more affordable, at Rs 7.31 lakhs (ex-showroom).
