Suzuki has recalled the Inazuma GW250 in the US and Australia. The recall has been issued to fix a glitch with the wiring harness of the rear brake light switch connectors.
Suzuki released a statement saying that the waterproof coupler between the brake switch harness and main harness of certain Inazuma models was faulty. This could let in water and lead to corrosion, which might further lead to a short circuit and failure of headlamp and tail lamp. The recall covers 1,890 motorcycles in the US manufactured in 2013 and 2015.
Suzuki has started contacting owners in the US and Australia to have their motorcycles inspected and get the issue rectified free of cost. As the Suzuki Inazuma GW250 was on sale in India in this period as a CKD model, there is a possibility that the motorcycles sold here also suffer from this issue. We are still awaiting Suzuki India’s official word on whether the models sold in India are also affected by this recall.
