Suzuki Motorcycle India has silently launched their quarter litre motorcycle, the Inazuma GW 250, for the Indian market, today, at Rs 3.10 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The bike will come to India through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route and will be assembled at the company’s Gurgaon plant.
The B-King inspired motorcycle is powered by a 248cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 26bhp at 8,500rpm and torque of 24.2Nm.The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the motorcycle has a kerb weight of 182kgs which is quite heavy for a 250cc naked motorcycle. The engine is known for low and mid-range power with decent fuel efficiency. The Suzuki Inazuma will be sold in two colours - black and red.
We feel the price is slightly on the higher side and that will make it an unattractive option for someone looking for a performance bike. With bikes such as the KTM Duke 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 being sold in India, it will be interesting to see if the Inazuma will be able to do good numbers.
“Suzuki wishes to offer the Indian rider a product at every price point and in every segment. The Inazuma is a practical 250 cc bike that expands Suzuki’s motorcycle portfolio into the premium segment which is showing growth potential. We believe that the Inazuma will be attractive for the youth, college students and motorcycle enthusiasts in metros,” said Atul Gupta, executive vice president, Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited.
