Suzuki Motorcycle is looking to double their export figures from 30,000 units to 60,000 units. Suzuki says that its success in export figures is attributed to the Suzuki Gixxer, as it is a well-received 150cc motorcycle overseas.
"Last year (2014-15), we exported around 30,000 units to Latin American countries and to countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. This year (by March 2016), our exports will be at 60,000 units. That is almost double of last year," Suzuki Motorcycle India General Manager - Exports, Kenji Hirozawa told the media at the launch of new Access 125.
The GM attributed the increase in exports to the Gixxer which was well received overseas. Talking about the exports for the next financial year 2016-17, Hirozawa said that the company would push more volumes of Access 125. "We are launching this (Access 125). Hopefully, we will try to cross one lakh units in exports by March 2017."
The current domestic Suzuki line-up includes the Lets, Access 125, Access 2016, Swish 125, Gixxer, Gixxer SF, SlingShot Plus, GS 150R and the Hayate.
