After tasting success with the Suzuki Gixxer 155, the company launched the Gixxer SF (Sports Fairing) for the Indian market, which was equally well received by the market. Now the company wants to go a step further with a bigger motorcycle.
As per Zigwheels, the company is developing a new 250cc motorcycle that is expected to be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. This motorcycle will be powered by a new 250cc single-cylinder engine and the decision to develop a single-cylinder quarter-litre motorcycle was taken to keep costs low and pass on the price advantage to the customers. While there are hardly any details on this new engine, reports suggest that it will churn out power between 25bhp and 28bhp, which is decent.
The overall design styling of this motorcycle will be like the Gixxer 155, however, expect the 250cc version to have a bulkier body proportions. Interestingly, this bike will be a naked one and there are no details if we will get a fully-faired version, considering our obsession towards full-fairing. The last 250cc motorcycle Suzuki sold in India was the Inazuma 250, which wasn’t well received by the market due to the price tag. We are expecting this new 250cc to be priced very competitively and to compete with the KTM Duke 200 and the upcoming Mahindra Mojo.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more details on this new Suzuki 250cc motorcycle.
