- Kilometre intervals between maintenance services have been increased for domestic vehicles
- Kilometre intervals and warranty kilometre limit has been increased for big bikes
- The re-alignment of the service schedule comes with immediate effect
Suzuki Motorcycles India has revised the maintenance service interval period for its motorcycles sold in the market. The re-alignment of the service schedule is pertaining to both domestic as well as bike bikes in the company’s portfolio.
Starting with the domestic bikes, effective for all existing bikes up to 169cc, the structure for the service due date from the date of sale has been revised. The kilometre difference between service intervals, however, remains unchanged. Even the warranty policy of two years or 30,000km remains the same.
In the case of big bikes, the changes are pertaining to all three factors. The service due date as per the date of sale is now more flexible with a window of 15 days to carry out a scheduled maintenance service as opposed to just one day, according to the previous schedule. Next is the kilometre interval between services which has increased from 4,000kms to 6,000kms after the second service. Lastly, in terms of the warranty, while the policy continues to be valid for two years, the kilometre limit has been extended from 24,000kms to 30,000kms.
The revision of service schedule is big news for existing Suzuki owners, especially for big bike ones. The flexible window for having the motorcycle serviced and the extended kilometre duration between services adds to ease of ownership and more affordability in terms of ownership costs. The increased warranty kilometre limit for big bikes will be beneficial to owners who prefer to use their motorcycles extensively.
