Suzuki Motorcycle India has set its sights on grabbing a significant share in the scooter segment. The Gurgaon- based manufacturer is planning to launch new products at every price point that will help them take on the industry leaders, Honda and Hero MotoCorp.
With the launch of its third scooter Let’s this year, the company is positive in generating sales from a new set of buyers. The company was missing a product in the 110cc segment, which contributes the most to the overall scooter segment in India. The company however, didn’t disclose anything about the scooters it is planning to launch next.
"We plan to offer two-wheelers at every price point. Scooters have been the 'crowning glory' for SMIL in the two-wheeler segment. Keeping the long term potential in mind, we have developed a new scooter 'Let's' that would primarily drive volumes in younger customers and the cost-conscious college students with its high octane mix of mileage and power," said Atul Gupta, executive vice-president, Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited.
