Suzuki Motorcycle India is in the process of upgrading most of their commuter two-wheeler lineup. This news was confirmed by a top official to IAB during the launch of the Suzuki Let’s in Chennai.
The company’s India line-up includes the Access, Swish, Slingshot and the GS150R. Along with cosmetic changes, these updated products will get few mechanical changes as well, the major one being the use of Suzuki Eco Performance technology. SEP is currently being used in the Let’s and also in the Gixxer that is scheduled to launch in the new quarter. This new technology focusses on improving combustion cycles and reducing mechanical losses. Atul Gupta, vice president, marketing and sales, said that these cosmetic changes will be evolutionary.
The Access and the Swish scooters have been doing its duty in the Indian market since many years. The sales performance has been more than decent but due to intense competition from its rivals, the company has felt the need to upgrade its products. It will be interesting to see the launch duration of these updates products as the job of upgrading most of its products is not an easy task. We hope Suzuki takes its time and does a good job.
