Suzuki has introduced the new DR200S for the US market. It is a part of the 2015 off-road range of motorcycles that Suzuki Motorcycles recently unveiled.
The Suzuki DR200S has been repositioned as an entry-level dual-sport motorcycle. It is a lightweight, low-cost bike that can be ridden off-road or licensed for street use in the United States. It is based on the 2013 DR200SE and features a redesigned fuel tank, an electric engine starter and a front disc brake. The 2015 model comes in a new champion yellow colour or black body work.
The DR200S is powered by a single-cylinder four-stroke 199cc air-cooled engine. It is mated to a five-speed gear-box. This motorcycle gets a push-button electronic-ignition system for the ease of starting the bike unlike some other low-displacement dual-sport bikes.
The Suzuki DR200S is currently only a US model and would not be introduced in the UK soon due to the country's strict emission laws. It is priced at $4499 which comes to about Rs 2.68 lakh. We don’t see the bike coming to India due to its high pricing. But the design of the bike is more inclined towards making the ride comfortable enough for the Indian road conditions and if it is ever launched in India it will be an apt motorcycle for on-road as well as off-road usage.
