Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the BS6-compliant version of its cruiser motorcycle, the Intruder. The company has priced it at Rs 1.20 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is a hefty premium of Rs 10,000 over its fuel-injected BS4 counterpart. Suzuki had unveiled the BS6 Intruder at the Auto Expo 2020 in February.
The Japanese bike maker has retained the quirky design of the Intruder. It gets the same triangular-shaped headlamp which is inspired by the larger 1,800cc version of the bike. The long and swooping body panels with a fancy, chrome-finished exhaust canister make the Intruder stand out of the crowd. In terms of features, the only update it has received is an LED headlamp. The fully-digital LCD display has been retained as it is.
The 154.9cc, air-cooled engine of the Intruder was already available with fuel-injection. However, Suzuki has added a larger catalytic converter for adhering with the BS6 emission norms. The company hasn’t disclosed the power figures of the update bike but has affirmed that it remains unchanged. To give you a perspective, the BS4-compliant, fuel-injected engine of the bike makes 14.6bhp and 14Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed gearbox.
Suzuki has launched the BS6 Intruder in three colour options including Metallic Matte Black/Candy Sanoma Red, Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Titanium Silver and Metallic Matte Titanium Silver. The motorcycle is already on sale through all authorised Suzuki dealerships across India.
