- Bookings commence very soon across the country
Suzuki India has launched its first litre-class motorcycle for 2022, the Katana. It’s priced at Rs 13,61,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and is the only 1000cc offering in Suzuki India’s current lineup. Let’s see what it has to offer.
The Suzuki Katana gets a fairly sporty bodywork with its bikini fairing and overall stance like a street fighter. It gets a square LED headlight with the LED DRLs integrated into a centrally mounted horizontal bar. Overall, the design is a mix of modern and retro elements.
It draws power from a 999cc inline-four cylinder liquid-cooled motor that dishes out 149bhp and 106Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suzuki has also offered a list of rider-aids as well. It includes riding modes, a traction control system, low rpm assist, and a ride-by-wire system as well.
Not to mention, the Katana also gets a fully digital instrument cluster too. The display houses a number of readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter(s), fuel level gauge, gear mode and engine temperature as well.
Suzuki has suspended the Katana on USD front forks and a linked rear shock. The braking hardware consists of twin front discs and a single rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and a 190/50 rear tyre.
Suzuki will offer the Katana in two colours: Metallic Mat Stellar Blue and Metallic Mystic Silver. Bookings for the bike will commence very soon across India. It rivals the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX and the BMW S 1000 XR.
