- To be powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder motor
- Gets adjustable springs
- Will be launched in India very soon
Suzuki India is all set to bring its upcoming litre-class motorcycle, the Katana to India. The brand has teased it a few times now on its social media and revealed quite some details about the bike.
The latest teaser reveals Katana’s design, which we have already covered in our first story. Moreover, the post also shows the bike’s fully digital instrument console. It gets an 11,000rpm rev limit as per the image and packs a host of other readouts as well.
Suzuki has plonked a 999cc inline four-cylinder liquid-cooled motor in the Katana. In the models sold overseas, the engine dishes out 150bhp. We expect it to see no drop considering the bike will likely come to India as CBU.
Moreover, it’ll be suspended on adjustable front forks and a seven-step adjustable rear shock. The braking hardware comprises twin 310mm discs upfront and a 240mm rear disc. It rides on 17-inch alloys.
Suzuki will likely price it between Rs 10-12 lakh (ex-showroom) since its arch-rivals will be the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX and the BMW S1000 XR. You can expect the Suzuki Katana to make its India debut very soon.
