Suzuki India has launched two new dirt bikes in India, the RM-Z250 and the RM-Z450 at Rs 7.1 lakhs and Rs 8.31 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
Both the bikes are from the famous RM-Z family, a brand that is known for its off-road capability and reliability. The Suzuki RM-Z450 gets its power from a 449cc four-stroke fuel-injected DOHC motor. The company doesn't give out the power figures for these bikes, but does claim it to be accessible and suitable for its nature. The bike gets Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC) which has three modes to choose from according to riding conditions. The RM-Z450 has a kerb weight of 112 kg with a ground clearance of 330 mm. The 450 rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear.
The Suzuki RM-Z250 is powered by a 249cc four-stroke fuel-injected DOHC engine. This bike has been developed to be agile and lightweight to perform really well. It tips the scale at 106 kg and has a ground clearance of 345mm. The frame and swingarm are new, as is the KYB-supplied suspension that includes a new coil spring fork.
The bookings for both the bikes have commenced at selected Suzuki dealerships and are available only in yellow colour. These bikes are not road legal and needs to be ridden in closed course or private land. The RM-Z250 competes with the Kawasaki KX-250F and the RM-Z450 rivals the KX450F.
