The drop in the demand for the old Suzuki Access might soon lead to the model being discontinued. The launch of the new Access, which has turned out to be big hit in the Indian market, can be held responsible for this slowdown in the sales of the 125cc scooter.
Though the new Access 125 was launched as a successor to the older model, Suzuki has so far kept both models in production. However, given that the new Access 125 is just Rs 3,500 more expensive than the older one, customers tend to go for the newer better scooter of the two. The new Access 125 also comes with optional alloy wheels and front disc brake, which further boost the scooter’s appeal. The new retro design language has turned out to be a hit among buyers who need a powerful and stylish scooter, with a touch of premium feel.
Even when a customer visits a dealership, sales executives tend to recommend the newer scooter, which has now resulted in the old Access 125 being put on the backburner. Several Suzuki dealerships have already run out of stock of the old Access 125 and are refusing to accept orders for the model. However a few showrooms still have existing inventory of the scooter in a few select colours.
