- Sales drop by 42.2% in March 2020
- Company registered 5.7% growth during the financial year

Suzuki Motorcycle India has released the sales data for March 2020, reporting a 42.2% decline in year-on-year numbers. The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer sold 33,930 units in March 2020 as against 58,701 units in the corresponding month last year.
In the financial year, on the other hand, the company reported a 5.7% growth in sales. Suzuki Motorcycle India sold 790,397 units in FY2019-20 as against 747,506 units in the corresponding period last year.
During FY2019-20, the company entered the quarter-litre segment with the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250. The company has also updated several products in its portfolio to comply with the BS6 emission norms. Suzuki Motorcycle India has currently suspended the operations at its manufacturing plant in Gurgaon due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic.
Speaking about the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic situation, Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India believes that the industry will overcome this difficult time and bounce back with positive growth.
