Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd. (SMIL) has announced a growth of 1.10 per cent in sales for April 2015 in comparison to the sales figures in the same month last year. The company sold 27,320 two-wheelers in the last month, while they had sold 27,023 units in April 2014.
The automobile market is seeing a slight slowdown this fiscal. Nevertheless, Suzuki has managed to achieve a marginal increase in overall sales due to the launch of new motorcycles from the manufacturer. The company launched the new Gixxer 150cc motorcycle last year and recently its fully-faired version - the Gixxer SF.
Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL, said, "Although the two wheeler industry in general has experienced a slight slowdown, Suzuki has experienced growth in sales. The recently launched Gixxer SF, a fully faired variant of Gixxer has been very well received by consumers. We look forward to continuing this upwards sales trajectory in the coming months."
SMIL, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motorcycles, has maintained the steady growth in sales in India for a couple of years now. The manufacturer has brought in new products for the Indian market and extended its dealer network not just in urban areas but also in rural regions of our country. With its widespread database of service centres, the company has managed to keep their existing customers delighted as well.
