Suzuki has recalled the new Access 125 for an issue with the scooter’s rear axle shaft. The new Access 125s that have been manufactured between March 8 and June 22, 2016 are a part of this recall.
As per Suzuki, there were some issues with the stability of the rear axle that were reported in some of the new scooters. A total of 54,740 units of the Access 125 have been recalled. Suzuki dealers will start contacting all the affected owners from tomorrow and ask the owners to bring in their new Access to the dealership. The rear axle shaft will be inspected and replaced free of cost. Interestingly, the Japanese manufacturer is also offering a free periodic maintenance service to all the customers who will report to the service centre for replacement.
“In pursuance of Suzuki’s commitment to customer satisfaction and as a matter of abundant precaution and safety, we have decided to undertake this service campaign on the New Access 125 scooters to address issues of rear axle/wheel stability that has been identified in some of these scooters,” said a Suzuki spokesperson.
