- Sells 46,717 two-wheelers in domestic market
- Export numbers grew by 20 per cent
- Access and Gixxer drive growth
Suzuki has registered a 39 per cent growth in two-wheeler sales in June 2018 as compared June 2018. The Japanese manufacturer sold 46,717 units in the domestic market in the last month, as opposed to 33,573 units in the corresponding month in the last year.
There was a jump in the export numbers too. Suzuki shipped 5,842 two-wheelers in the last month as opposed to 4,875 units in June 2017, reflecting a growth of 20 per cent. Overall, the sales numbers grew by 36 per cent, from 38,448 units to 52,559 units. The Access has been the highest-selling model in Suzuki’s range. While the Gixxer had been suffering from a drop in demand in the last few month, the sales seem to have picked up again with the launch of the ABS variant of the streetfighter.
Suzuki is aiming to hit the seven lakh units sales mark in the current financial year. With the first quarter having concluded, Suzuki’s sales stand at 1.7 lakh units, which is a little short of the target. However, we can safely expect the sales number to witness a huge jump in the festive season.
