- It sold 63,209 units in the first month of 2019

Suzuki Motorcycle India has registered a 40 per cent growth in its two-wheeler sales in January 2019 as it sold 63,209 units as opposed to the sale of 45,287 units in the corresponding month last year. As for the overall sales, including domestic and international, Suzuki sold 69,162 units and recorded 39 per cent growth since the total sales figure in the same month last year stood at 49,618 units.
Suzuki recently launched the 2019 version of its middle-weight adventure tourer, the V-Strom 650 XT ABS, in India. The changes on the new model are minimum as it only gets hazard lamps and side reflectors as added elements over the previous model. The Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT ABS is powered by a 650cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that churns out 71bhp of power and 62Nm of peak torque. The pricing for the 2019 model remains the same at Rs 7.46 lakhs (ex-showroom). Moreover, Suzuki updated its 125cc scooter, the Access 125, with CBS (combined-braking system) safety feature and gave it a price hike of Rs 690 and it now comes for Rs 59,636.
The Japanese bikemaker is also gearing up to enter the quarter-litre motorcycle segment in India with the Gixxer 250 naked street bike which will go up against the Yamaha FZ25.
