Suzuki has started 2018 with a bang, recording 41 per cent growth in the first month of the year in the domestic market.
Suzuki sold 45,287 two-wheelers in the domestic market in January 2018 as compared to 31,960 two-wheelers it had managed in the corresponding period in the last year. The export numbers however, has dropped by 30 per cent. The company shipped 4,476 two-wheelers to international markets as compared to 6,332 units in January 2017. Overall, the company sold 47,763 two-wheelers in the last month.
The Access 125 has been the cash cow for Suzuki since it was launched in 2016. The scooter recently shot past Hero Maestro Edge to become the third highest selling scooter in the Indian market. Even the Intruder is off to a good start. The demand for the Gixxer however, has dropped drastically. The company will be unveiling a new premium scooter for the Indian market at the Auto Expo next week.
