Suzuki has announced a 43 per cent jump in two-wheeler sales in April 2017 compared to the corresponding month in 2016. With this, the company continues to hold on to the seventh spot in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
Monthly sales in the domestic market touched 36,289 units in April 2017 as opposed to the 25,343 units which Suzuki had managed in April 2016, thus translating into a 43 per growth. Export numbers also experienced a 42 per cent hike, rising from 5,290 units in April 2016 to 7,535 units in April 2017. Overall sales numbers stood at 43,842 units.
Suzuki’s growth can be attributed to the introduction of new paint schemes for its entire range. Suzuki has hit the right chord with the premium scooter and motorcycle buyers in India, though the same cannot be said about the entry-level commuter range. The biggest contributor towards its growth has been the Suzuki Access 125. The 125cc scooter has turned into a cash cow for the manufacturer ever since it received an overhaul over a year ago. Even the Gixxer range has been returning consistent sales numbers.
