Suzuki has recorded a 58 per cent growth in in the April to June period of 2017. The company sold 89,323 scooters in the same period, as opposed to the 56,242 units it had managed in the corresponding period in 2016.
The Suzuki Access 125 is the biggest contributor to this growth, and it has emerged as the new cash cow for manufacturer. Since the launch of the new model in 2016, the Access 125 has been setting new benchmarks every month, and reached a new high of 31,895 units in May. Such is the demand for the new Access 125 that Suzuki has halted production of the rest of the 125cc scooters in its line-up to ensure enough supply to meet the demand.
Suzuki is currently the fifth largest scooter manufacturer in the country. It recently launched two new paint schemes for the Access 125, priced at Rs 59,063 (ex-showroom), to keep the momentum going. With Let’s also getting cosmetic updates, we can expect a jump in demand for the 110cc scooter too.
