- Sold 67,025 units, up from 52,167 units in March 2018

Suzuki Motorcycle India has registered a 28 per cent growth in its sales in the month of March 2019 as compared to the corresponding month last year. The bikemaker sold 67,025 units this year, including domestic and international markets combined, as opposed to the sales of 52,167 units in March 2018. In the domestic market, Suzuki reported a 25 per cent growth as the sales shot up from 46,848 units last year to 58,701 units in March this year.
As for the yearly sales, Suzuki dispatched 7,47,506 two-wheelers during the financial year 2018-19. This is a growth of 30 per cent over FY 2017-18 that wItnessed a sales figure of 5,74,711 units. The company’s vice president Devashish Handa stated that the bikemaker is aiming at pushing the sales figure to 10 lakh units in the fiscal year 2019-20.
Suzuki has multiple models in its portfolio, from low-capacity scooters to high-capacity premium motorcycles. Of these, the highest selling two-wheeler is the Suzuki Access 125 which has registered consistent growth in its sales. On the flipside, the company’s premium commuter offerings, the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, have been a victim of consistently declining sales. However, the motorcycles are due for a major update in the coming days. Moreover, Suzuki is also expected to launch a quarter-litre naked bike, the Gixxer 250, to compete in the ever-growing 200cc-400cc segment.
