Suzuki Motorcycle India recorded a year-on-year growth of 2.11 per cent in its sales in the month of September. Domestic sales and exports combined, the company sold 73,658 units last month, as against 72,134 units in the same period last year.
In terms of domestic sales, although the brand didn’t record a substantial growth as compared to last year, the figure was the highest ever reported by Suzuki. The company dispatched 63,382 units of two-wheelers last month, while in September 2018, it sold 63,140 units.
Talking about the current fiscal year, Suzuki witnessed a significant bump of 13.08 per cent in terms of domestic sales and exports combined. The company posted sales of 4,19,676 units for the period of April to September this year, which was much higher than 3,71,109 units during the corresponding period last year.
Amidst the slump in the overall two-wheeler sales in India, Suzuki is one of the few manufacturers which has been posting a consistent growth. The company records the highest sales for its Access 125 scooter every month. Meanwhile, it recently widened its popular Gixxer portfolio by launching the 250cc iterations including the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250.
