Suzuki Motorcycle India has reported a 3.5 per cent overall growth in the year-on-year sales for the month of February 2020. The company sold 67,961 units (Domestic + Exports) in February 2020 as compared to 65,630 units in the corresponding month last year. Cumulatively, Suzuki Motorcycle India sold 7,49,755 unit sales for the period of April 2019 - February 2020.
The company has already unveiled BS6 compliant variants of its existing products. However, not all of them are available for sale yet. The company has announced the launch of the Access 125 and Burgman Street. The list of upcoming BS6 compliant Suzuki products, on the other hand, comprises of Gixxer, Gixxer SF, Gixxer 250, Gixxer 250 SF, Intruder and the V-Strom 650 XT.
The company is confident that the new product launches will propel its sales growth in the Indian market, said Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India. He also added that the two-wheeler brand is happy with its sustained growth momentum.
As reported earlier, Suzuki Motorcycle India plans to scale up its motorcycle business in the local market. The company wants to expand contribution from motorcycles to 20 per cent from the existing 10 per cent. The Indian arm of the Japanese brand will focus on 150cc and above segment.
