Suzuki recently unveiled the Saluto 125 at the 2019 Taipei Motor Show. The scooter is built on the underpinnings of the Access 125 which is sold in India although with considerable changes to set it apart. Here we list down the differences between the Saluto 125 and Access 125.
Styling
The Suzuki Access 125 and Saluto 125 sport a retro-inspired styling however with completely different styling cues. While the Access 125 has flowing curves and a rounded design, the Saluto 125 sports edgy bodywork with sharp lines and creases all through. The only similar aspect of their design is the use of chrome on the headlamp cowl and on the mirrors.
Features
Suzuki recently updated the Access 125 and equipped it with an LED headlamp. The Saluto 125 takes it a step ahead and comes with a full-LED headlamp, LED DRLs, LED tail lamp and turn signals. It also offers keyless ignition, hazard light and pass switch.
However, the most interesting feature is the new instrument console that features a digital screen along with an analogue speedometer. The only extra feature that the Access 125 offers is an external fuel-filler cap.
Engine
Both scooters come powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder engine with Suzuki’s Eco Performance technology. However, there is a difference in power output. While the Access 125 produces 8.5bhp and 10Nm of torque, the Saluto 125’s motor puts out a higher, 9.2bhp of power but has similar torque at 10Nm.
Cycle parts
The Suzuki Access 125 rides on a telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. As for the Saluto, it gets dual shock absorbers at the rear while retaining the similar telescopic forks at the front. Braking hardware remains identical for both scooters comprising disc at the front and drum at the rear
Price
The top-of-the-line Access 125 is pegged at Rs 62,892. Given that the Saluto 125 comes with additional features, it will be positioned above the Access if it is launched in India. While there is no official announcement about the Saluto 125’s India launch timeline, we can expect it to be introduced in the country sometime in the latter half of next 2020.
