Suzuki Motorcycle India is planning to give the Swish a minor update, which is expected to boost its sales in the country. The entry-level 125cc scooter will be launched this month and will be one of the models that Suzuki has planned for 2015.
The major update the Swish scooter will get is the introduction of a disc brake at the front that will make it the first scooter in Suzuki India’s line-up to get it. It will also get a new digital instrument console, alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. In terms of styling, Suzuki Motorcycle India is giving the 125cc scooter a mild makeover, to make the Suzuki Swish more youthful and ready to take on the likes of Yamaha Ray Z and Honda Dio.
Mechanically, there is no change expected and Suzuki Swish would continue to be powered by a 125cc air-cooled mill, with a power output of 8.6bhp and torque rating of 9.8Nm. Expect the Japanese manufacturer to offer new colours for the updated Swish.
We are expecting that Suzuki won’t increase the price of the updated Swish and will continue to sell it at Rs 52,824(on-road Delhi). Unlike the Access, the Swish never set the charts on fire, even after under-cutting the market leader, the Activa by a great margin. With this updated model, the company is aiming to achieve very good sales.
